Green leather spines and corners, mint cloth board, gilt titles and rules, top edges gilt, marbled endpapers. An extensive autobiography by the author of The Waverley Novels, who heavily influenced the development of European literature in general, and especially Scottish literature. His deep interest in the history of his homeland informed his fiction as well as his poetry, and he was an avid collector of Scottish artifacts.
