xvi, 186 pp. The first of two volumes - the second volume, not included here, was published in 2004. The first volume covers the period through the end of World War I. The author has lived in the bluegrass region of New York for more than 50 years. In that time, through his work as a veterinarian, he has become familiar with the history of the farms and estates of the region. He has also had experience with the horse breeding, racing, hunting and equestrian sports of the region. Foreword by Martha D. Wadsworth.
