This anthology also includes contributions by Leo Tolstoy, as well as Maxim Gorky, Anton Chekhov, Ivan Turgenev, and many others, with a foreword by Ruth Hill Viguers (editor of The Horn Book Magazine), and woodcut illustrations by Vladimir Favorsky.
