356 pp. Red cloth, gilt titles and decorations on spine and boards, blind-stamped borders and decorations on front and rear boards. Formed in 1836 in Watertown, New York, the Black River Conference was among a series of restructurings of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Gorrie, a member of the conference, wrote a history of the M.E. Church and several other related works.
