Dulles' in pencil on front flyleaf: John Welsh Dulles was the grandfather of Secretary of State John Foster Dullles (he served under Dwight Eisenhower), and Cold War CIA director Allen Welsh Dulles. 1/2 inch tear to spine head of first volume, one illustration on p. 79/80 clipped out but included in its proper place, hinges weak with one sprung gathering near end of first volume, front and end matter foxed.

An account of the survey of 4700 square miles of Western Palestine by Captain Stewart, R.E. in January, 1872, and of the remaining 1300 square miles by Lieutenant Kitchener in 1877.
