Foster, daughter of Ada J. Wing, June 28 - 1944.'), small spot on fore edge, spot on margin of p. 210.
223 pp. 8vo. Original blind stamped plum cloth, publisher's emblem in center of front panel, gilt titles on spine. Mill's treatise established important principles regarding the relationship of the individual to the state, some of which were quite revolutionary in his day. In many ways his assertions paved the way for the definition of freedom we recognize today.
