Magical Mimics in Oz (Oz Series Book 37)
Chicago: The Reilly & Lee Co., 1946. Kramer, Frank. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good / Fair. Item #2272877
First edition, binding A, bulking over 1 inch - not the reprint that is 7/8 (Bienvenue p. 133). The A binding is more desirable, as it matches the cover design of the original editions of Baum's books, which also had color picture plates mounted on the front board. Very good in fair jacket. Rear board lightly soiled, jacket well worn with significant loss from spine based, bottom edge of front panel, and top edge of rear panel, and stain running across width, name on ownership page. Binding tight and square, text clean and unmarked.
242 pp. 8vo. Grey cloth, black titles and Toto motif on spine, full color paper label on front board. black-and-white illustrations by Frank Kramer, illustrated endpapers. The first book in the continuation of Baum's immortal Oz series by Jack, following the sequels written by Ruth Plumply Thompson and John R. Neill. These books are now considered part of the official canon - as such, it is considered the thirty-seventh book in the series overall.
