A shoe-string bound volume with strap closure, issued by the Air Ministry of Great Britain during World War II, and providing recognition information for British, French, and German aircraft (the United States had not yet entered the war). Each country is thumb tabbed. Includes black & white photographs from eight perspectives, diagrams of wing and fuselage markings, descriptions of camouflage and coloring, and specifications of each aircraft. Designed for study by Royal Air Force pilots in advance of missions (it specifically states 'not to be taken in the air').
